Women In Governance National Dialogue

THEME: MOVEMENT BUILDING TOWARDS AN EQUAL PLAYING FIELD: WOMEN INCLUSION & PARTICIPATION IN GOVERNANCE

The Women In Governance National Dialogue unites women in politics, governance, public administration, and women’s rights and advocacy organizations to address the issue of underrepresentation of women in governance and politics and bring together stakeholders to advocate for inclusivity in governance and the political party system.

The conference will also throw light on the need for the passage of the Affirmative Action (Gender Equality) Bill, 2023 by Ghana’s Parliament to guarantee heightened participation, empowerment, and leadership opportunities for women across all public and political levels. The strive for equitable representation and influence in policy-making, public administration, and political decision-making processes through the enactment of an Affirmative Action Law is necessary for the development of the country.

The conference’s primary goal is to bring to bear issues surrounding women in the 2024 parliamentary and presidential elections in Ghana and seek commitment from major parties in implementing inclusive policies to bridge the equity divide. The conference also seeks to empower and inspire women to actively engage in issues surrounding governance and would include politicians, female CEOs, youth leaders, and other aspiring women leaders throughout Ghana.
